More questions on the new contract and the 5% one-time bonus to all AFGE Bargaining Unit Employees

Question:Why not Core Comp?
Answer: Core Comp was pulled off the negotiation table by Agency Management. The reason are unknown why they choose not to go to Core Comp. All AFGE Local 200 employees will remain in the Federal Schedule (GS).

Question: 5% one time bonus. Does that apply to all AFGE members or just paying members?
Answer: All AFGE EMPLOYEES will get a 5% one-time cash bonus.

Question: Will the 5% one-time cash bonus impact step increases or base pay?
Answer: NO, the 5% one-time bonus will not effect step increases, base pay or anything else dealing with pay.

Question: Will the 5% one-time cash bonus impact the 0.5% in 2013?
Answer: NO, the 0.5% pay raise in 2013 will not be effected..

Question: When will I see the cash bonus?
Answer: Everyone should see 5% one-time cash bonus sometime in March. We are still working out the details.

Question: When will the new contract come into effect?
Answer: It will come into effect once the FAA Administrator and Union President sign the new contract.

Question: What has been done so far to finalize the new contract?
Answer: Final review of the contract has been completed and the Union and the Agency chief negotiators will sign the new contract on Thursday of this week. Then it goes to Agency Lawyers for a review (make sure it the contract does not violate the law), and the union for a ratification vote, then the FAA Administrator and Union President will sign it sometime in the first week of February.

Question: Is the 5% bonus based off of base pay, or, base pay + locality pay combined?
Answer: Yes, Base pay + Locality

Question: Will Federal and New Jersey taxes be automatically withheld?
Answer: Yes

Questions: How many members are eligible to vote?
Answer: We have 45 members

Questions: How many votes will it take to approve the new contract?
Answer: The union needs a majority vote from the union members that is present for the meeting. According to the union by-laws we need at least 5 or more members to hold a meeting. If you are a dues paying member please show up and vote.

Question: How long does this contract covers us for?
Answer: Length of the new contract is in effect until December 31, 2015
